Launched in 2019, La Cocina Cocteleria is the cocktail bar in Hialeah. Connected to Kush Hialeah (formerly Stephen’s Deli), it pays homage to its host city with a dazzling decor that’s equal parts tribute and fever dream, like all things by Kush Hospitality Group.
On National Rum Day, guests should try the Nooo Que Bueno. This cocktail is inspired by Valsan — a renowned, oh-so-Miami department store selling a variety of products including jewelry, cosmetics, clothing, and fragrances. The drink is as one-of-a-kind as its influence. It’s prepared with a heady mix of Brugal 1888, sweet vermouth, cold brew coffee, and tobacco bitters.
La Cocina Cocteleria is located at 1000 East 16th Street in Hialeah, Florida. It’s open on Fridays and Saturdays from 7 PM to last call. Call (305) 887-8863 to get in touch.
You’ll find R House in the heart of Wynwoods’ Art and Entertainment District. This South Florida culinary staple is known for offering mouthwatering Latin American cuisine, quality service, a lively and inclusive atmosphere, and, arguably most famous of all, amazing drag performances. Recently awarded “Best Mojito in Miami” by Miami New Times, guests should try the El Miquimben ($16), prepared with Bacardi, Rum Haven, watermelon Red Bull, lime, mint, and sugar.
Another must-try is La Pina Loca ($100), served in a whole pineapple, this frozen delight is delivered on a bamboo tray and dressed with flaming sparklers, flamingo straws, and tiki-style umbrellas; a drink as lively and colorful as R House itself. This cocktail serves up to five people and comes with five additional shots of the customer’s choice. But please note, La Pina Loca is now only available upon request or by pre-order via R House’s website as it is a secret menu item.
R House is located at 2727 NW 2nd Avenue in Wynwood. Call (305) 576-0201 to get in touch.
