Yardbird Southern Table & Bar, one of Miami’s most sought-after dining destinations since opening in 2011, is adding an array of enticing new dishes to its lunch and supper menus for the summer.
Stand-out lunch additions to the Southern-inspired menu, include the Florida Heirloom Tomatoes ($16) with toasted peanut hummus, basil, smoked tomato sorbet, field shoots and crunchy puffed Carolina rice; Green Asparagus & Fingerling Potatoes ($14) with tomato preserves, poached chicken egg and chicory lettuce tossed in a caramelized onion vinaigrette; and the “ALT” Sandwich ($13) served on a big soft bun with fresh Haas avocado, Bibb lettuce, heirloom tomato and pickled red onion. The classic comfort food that Yardbird is known for remains on the menu including popular dishes such as Mamas Chicken Biscuits, the Smoked Brisket Sandwich or the Chicken N’ Watermelon N’ Waffles.
For supper, in addition to Yardbird’s classic staples like Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken, guests can enjoy light and savory fare including the Pan-Fried North Carolina Trout ($27) served with creamed spinach, pickled Key West shrimp and a zesty Creole mustard sauce; Thyme & Rosemary Roasted Fennel Bulb ($24) with Sea Island red field peas, Carolina gold rice pilaf, charred scallions and anise cream; and Grilled New Smyrna Beach Wahoo ($29) with heirloom cherry tomatoes, eggplant and cucumber salsa, crispy basil and tomato broth; as well as the hearty new side dish, Grilled Romaine Lettuce ($9) topped with Winter Park Florida Tamme cheese, chili-lemon vinaigrette and spicy anchovy breadcrumbs, complements the menus rich flavors.
In celebration of Independence Day and National Fried Chicken Day (Sunday, July 6, 2014), Yardbird will be offering an exclusive lunch and brunch special, Friday, July 4 through Friday, July 11, 2014. For a limited time, guests can enjoy a twist on the classic Blue Plate Special ($14), two pieces of Lewellyn’s fine fried chicken with a blend of hot spices, served with citrus pepper watermelon and house-made buttermilk biscuits. Perfect to help cool down from the chicken’s fiery bite is Yardbird’s signature Watermelon Sling ($13), a refreshing blend of Troy & Sons platinum white whiskey, fresh pressed watermelon juice and lemon balanced with rosemary and Aperol.
Yardbird is located on Miami Beach at 1600 Lenox Ave. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner daily with weekend brunch on Saturday and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
