Robyn Webb, MS, CITM is an award winning cookbook author, nutritionist, culinary instructor, and culinary tour guide. Being born and raised in the hotel and restaurant business, Robyn was destined for a life in the hospitality and food business. She began her career in the New York City area at the home appliance company, Farberware, as the assistant test kitchen director, followed by successful positions as a food and beverage manager for both Marriott and Hyatt Hotels. After relocating from New York to Washington DC and upon marriage, Robyn founded her own long-term business and career that spanned nearly 30 years. Under Robyn Webb Associates and A Pinch of Thyme Cooking School, Robyn penned 17 cookbooks with a focus on diabetes care, with four of them capturing prestigious national and international awards. She served as the Food Editor of the American Diabetes Association’s Diabetes Forecast Magazine for 25 years. She had an acclaimed cooking school and very successful private nutrition practice, counseling some of Washington DC’s most prominent residents. She also served as the private chef to celebrities, political and sport figures and corporate CEOs.
Robyn had numerous recipe development and food projects with some of the biggest names from corporations to the media, including The Washington Post, Cooking Light, Fine Cooking, Nestle, Keebler, California Avocado Association, Whole Foods, and numerous food blogs and public government and private agencies. She frequently appeared on TV programs on Food Network, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN News, and more. After almost 30 years as a business owner in Washington, she retired from that career and moved to Miami. Here she embarked on a second career in food tourism, and is currently a food tour guide for the award-winning Miami Culinary Tours. She received her Certified International Tour Manager designation from the International Guide Academy. She is a member of the International Association of Tour Directors and Guides.
She currently serves as Secretary for the South Florida Les Dames d’Escoffier chapter; the local chapter of the world-wide prestigious, invitation only organization of which Julia Child was a founding member. Robyn was past chairman of the Cooking Schools and Teachers division of The International Association of Culinary Professionals.
