Valentine’s Dinner At Paradise Farms Featuring Toro Toro And Slow Food Miami

Paradise Farms to Host Valentine’s Dinner Dance Featuring Chef Jose Luis Flores of Toro Toro and Slow Food Miami, Saturday, February 9, 2013

The Valentine’s Dinner in Paradise marks a favorite time of year for the Paradise Farms hospitality team. The signature event’s open-air gazebo strewn with twinkly lights, heirloom pink and red roses wafting through the air and crackling bonfire beneath the stars are designed for romance.

This year’s partnership with Slow Food Miami welcomes guest toque Jose Luis Flores, who currently oversees the kitchen at Toro Toro, Chef Richard Sandoval’s critically-acclaimed Pan-Latin steakhouse concept located at the newly redesigned InterContinental Miami.

Flores will cook a decadent five-course meal that’s big on tempting flavors and creative platings, which will surely set the evening’s festive mood. Making him an even better fit for the holiday, Flores also acts as the corporate pastry chef for Richard Sandoval Restaurants, a worldwide fleet of restaurant concepts.

Here, guests will kick-off the evening with a reception of tropical fruit sparkling wine and hors d’oeuvres before farm owner Gabriele Marewski leads a tour of the 5-acres organic property that focuses on baby and micro greens, oyster mushrooms and edible flowers, many of which are featured in the centerpieces. More wine follows with Paradise Farm’s acting sommelier Shari Gherman’s pairings of red and white vintages for each course. Linda Scheele, whose Organic Cellar Plus distribution firm based in Deerfield Beach, specializes in organic wines from Italy, also will attend to discuss pours in-depth and her expansion into Spanish and French organic wines.

Though every farm event is special in its own right, Valentine’s is especially unique. It’s the sole annual occasion when live music and dancing between courses and after dinner is provided.

Please note the February 9 date falls on a Saturday rather than the dining series’ usual Sunday. Proceeds from the $165 ticket per person benefit Slow Food Miami’s healthy eating initiatives.

Paradise Farms would like to thank the event's generous, long-term sponsors including Whole Foods Market, Schnebly Redland's Winery, Lucini Italia, Brustman Carrino Public Relations, Strategic Importers and Hani's Mediterranean Organics as well as Dinner in Paradise

co-founder Michael Schwartz.
