R House Wynwood is one of the restaurant stops on the Wynwood Art District Food Tour. The music is fun and the dim lighting contributes to a pleasant ambiance. The tour takes a look around the beautifully decorated establishment and admires the art. Outside, the patio is furnished for both form and function. The form being modern in design, and the function being comfortable and inviting.
At this artsy bar, the tour is presented with the R House short rib slider and the tuna tartar. We take our seats at the bar. I start with the yellowfin tuna tartar, which is drizzled with a bit of sweet chili. The fresh tuna, avocado, and wasabi cream sits atop a crunchy wonton crisp. The wasabi is mixed perfectly with the avocado. I love all the sweet and savory flavors, and the wonton crisp compliments the softer ingredients with its hard crunch.
Next, I try the short rib slider. It is served with aioli and a soft, warm bun. The short rib is well cooked with crispy ends. As I take a bite, I notice it is also very tender and falls apart in the mouth. These appetizers are simple, but they are executed to perfection.
