I love everything Russian, I don't know why, I like Russian people, I like Russian food, I like Russian spammers - so I head to another land here in Miami; Sunny Isles Beach. I say another land because I have been living in Miami for 8 years now and I had no idea that in Sunny Isles you have so many dining options. I was amazed when I was driving around looking for Lotus Restaurant & Lounge to see that the neighborhood is full of eateries, restaurants, bars, delis, etc. And they are mostly Russians so I like it.

Lotus Mixed Green Salad

Now, there should not be much science on a house salad but you know how it goes, you never know what you could get. This salad was exquisite, full of flavor, the dressing you can tell is made right on premises and it is not overpowering at all. Plain and simple I give this salad a 10.

Potato Dumplings

I thought these were called pierogies but they have them as potato dumplings in the menu. Believe me these are the real thing and I know how authentic pierogies taste as I have tried them in Eastern Europe. These ones were excellent. The only turn off was when I learn they bring them New York, I heard they are the best kind you can find, but you know what I mean, one thing is to think someone is rolling the dough in the kitchen and another thing is to think of the truck that brought these babies to South Florida. Hopefully they came by plane so it is easier on my head. Needless to say, they were exceptional.
