What started off as an annual fundraiser has become one of the most coveted food events in North Broward. The fundraiser benefits the Greater Pompano Beach Chamber of Commerce and brings out several hundred locals to try some of the area’s best restaurants. Come and enjoy food prepared on-site by 25-30 of our finest South Florida chefs and equally fine wines provided by several of South Florida’s best wine distributors. For the first time, this year the event will host beer distributors as well. The evening will also feature a Chinese, Silent and Live Auctions in which to contribute to the benefits, as funds help to promote the civic, commercial, educational, and economic progress of the community throughout the year.

Sadly, South Florida’s farms have produced the last of this season’s pickings, so Chef Julie is hosting her last garden tour of the season with a selection of harvest-inspired bites accompanied with cocktails, beer, and wine as an ode to this year’s agricultural gifts. The food being featured is coming from the best farms in the area, including Paradise Farms, Swank Farms, Teena's Pride, and Essensia’s own garden along with local artisanal sauages from Proper Sausages. A portion of the evening's proceeds will benefit Slow Food Miami's Edible School & Community Garden Program.

Taste of the Gables

The Westin Colonnade Hotel

coralgablesrestaurantweek.com/taste-html/

Used as a celebration to kick off Coral Gables Restaurant week, this annual event allows you to make your way through the beautiful Westin Colonnade to sample tastings from 20 restaurants, both veterans and newcomers. It’s all fun and games, but keep in mind that this is also a competition where the restaurants try to impress by making their best dish to win your vote for “Best Taste of the Gables.” Yes, instead of judges, you choose who wins, so you are guaranteed a great time. Bring an empty stomach and designated driver, as this vent, presented by Bacardi USA Inc, will feature abundant food and of course, lots of drinks. If you really want to indulge, we recommend the VIP ticket, as it will give you access to all general admission areas, plus an open bar, extra food stations, and a goodie bag to take home as a keepsake.
