Tag: Bodega Soledad

Bodega Soledad winery was established in 1958 by 59 local farmers with a total
initial production of 2,000 tons of grapes. Currently our winery sources the fruit of
2,500 hectares of vines on privileged calcareous sandy soils at an average altitude
of 750 meters above sea level. Most vines are over 100 years old.

Red grape varieties include mainly Tempranillo -locally known as Cencibel-, Syrah
and Cabernet Sauvignon. White varieties include the local Airen as well as
Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc.

A winter cool climate makes a rainfall of 500 ml per year and is good for growth;
hot and dry summers ensure good grape ripening. The harvesting area reaches
between La Mancha and the Alcarria mountains, in the west of Cuenca province,
bordering those of Toledo, Guadalajara and Madrid.

The winery has a storage capacity of 7,000,000 gallons, with 262 clay depots and 25
stainless steel tanks, 33 self-emptying deposits and 6 temperature-controlled
fermentation stainless steel tanks. Our park of American and French oak barrels is
currently being renovated.

Exhaustive Quality control extends from the grapes at the vineyard to the prepara-
tion of the final product. Most of the harvesting is done manually. Bodega Soledad is
proud to be in possession of an ISO 9001 Certificate.
