Black Tower, the most successful German export wine brand of the past 40 years, re-enters the US market with a new bottle design and new brand story this fall. Formerly all black, the new two-tone bottle features a clear lower half that lets the wine varietal shine through, while the upper half retains its iconic black color. The new tagline “Easy Ends The Day” speaks to Black Tower’s target audience of young professionals looking for an uncomplicated wine, both in terms of selection and its ease to drink.
“Our target audience of 23 to 33-year olds lead a busy work and social life that can be stressful. Wine plays an important part in their entertaining, but it needs to be easy to choose and enjoy. The new Black Tower bottle design stands out on the shelf and conveniently shows the wine color that’s in the bottle,” says Alexander Rittlinger, marketing director at Reh Kendermann, the German export company of Black Tower.
To further Black Tower’s position as a stylish wine choice, Black Tower has partnered with style expert and Today Show personality, Bobbie Thomas. Debuting during 2010 Spring/Summer New York Fashion Week, Bobbie has created Black Tower Color Blocking guide, en homage to the continued appeal of this color-clashing trend on the catwalks this season, not to mention the revamped Black Tower bottle jacket being a reflection of this fashion look. Bobbie continues to share an array of tips and expert advice on how your wine, food, fashion and home décor choices are an extension of your personality type, and how these can be aligned and clashed to create real wow-factor in the style stakes amongst your friends this fall.
