River Yacht Club (RYC), a unique waterfront lifestyle destination on the Miami River, recently celebrated its one year anniversary. On the heels of this milestone, the American Academy of Hospitality Sciences (AAHS), an esteemed organization of reviewers who rate hotels & resorts, spas, and airlines as well as restaurants and chefs around the world, will be awarding Stephane Dupoux and RYC two awards, an unprecedented honor for an establishment open only one year. River Yacht Club joins a group of highly esteemed restaurants such as New York’s Jean Georges, Le Bernadin and Per Se, Mexico’s San Angel Inn, Megu Tokyo and Moscow, and resorts and hotels around the world including the Bel-Air Hotel, the Grande Hotel du Cap Ferrat, Plaza Athenee, Boulders in Arizona and Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach. The awards will be presented on Friday, May 26 at the River Yacht Club by AAHS president Joseph Cinque and includes:
Dupoux, an owner of RYC is the visionary behind the nautical chic design of the sprawling complex which is dotted with exquisite artwork. He is also the designer behind such projects as Nikki Beach Club and Pearl Miami Beach, Buddha Bar and Cielo New York, Seasalt and Pepper, and Nylo and Sole Hotels among other projects.
According to Dupoux, “I’m honored to receive such a prestigious award; especially upon the completion of RYC. To transform a run-down bar that had been sliding into decrepitude into an elegant laid back venue reminiscent of the open air restaurants and clubs of Ibiza was one of my greatest challenges to date.”
AAHS board members will join director Joseph Cinque in Miami for the awards presentation, along with River Yacht Club partners Von Dutch and Jetsmarter on Friday, May 26 at 7PM. Star Diamond TV, the organization’s online video outlet, will film the event
