Spice It Up! Miami adds Latin Sabor to the event with an Interactive Food, Dance and Mixology Evening

Chef Danny to Headline the Culinary Evening that Showcases Latin & Caribbean Flavors on Friday, July 14th at The Caribbean Marketplace

Spice It Up Miami! will host its monthly event that will showcase the music, dance and food that highlights the cultural heritage of the islands and the Latin feel of Miami.

This month, Latin Chef Danny Manuel Peñaló Dominguez will be the featured celebrity chef. Chef Danny is the Owner & Executive Chef of the prestigious restaurant Yarumba a Dominican Restaurant with two locations in Dade & Broward County. Yarumba is rated as the “best Dominican restaurant in South Florida”. Chef Danny graduated Magna Cum Laude from La Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) with a degree in Hotel Administration with a concentration in Food & Beverage. He continued his professional education in various prestigious educational programs such as the Walt Disney World “Culinary Passport to Excellence”.

Chef Danny is also a Chef consultant for numerous restaurants and has helped open many establishments. Chef Danny has been the Executive Chef at Filibustero Restaurant, Hotel Blue Jack Tar and Playa Dorada Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic. In his spare time, he teaches Culinary Arts at PUCMM. Throughout his professional career, he has received many awards as well as participated in various special events and TV shows. Chef Danny Dominguez has been featured on Univision “Despierta America” and Telemundo “Un Nuevo Dia” as well as the Gastronomic Editor for the 809 News newspaper. Also, he is a member of the American Culinary Federation (ACF).

During Spice It! Up Miami, Chef Danny will teach the attendees how to make some of his most scrumptious recipes on his Yarumba Restaurant menu which is a combination of traditional recipes, the development of modern plates and a fusion of flavors gathered from the best that Dominican cuisine has to offer.

#SpiceItUpMiami is a monthly culinary experience that takes place at the Caribbean Marketplace cultural destination located at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, 5925 NE 2nd Avenue in Miami. Tickets can be purchased at www.spiceitupmiami.eventbrite.com.

“In its fourth month, Spice It Up! Miami is the must attend event that you don’t want to miss that showcases the music, dance and food that highlights the cultural heritage of the islands and the Latin feel of Miami”, states event producer, Marie Louissaint. Also, guests will be able to buy art work, cook books, spices and other items at the Spice It Up! Miami gift shop.

Other fun elements of the night include mixology ttechniques for the art of a perfect homemade tropical cocktail; learning the latest hip dance moves of meringue, bachata, compas, reggae and more where attendees can work off the delicious meal they learned to prepare.

Guests are encouraged to come early and join CHAT Miami for a 45-minute walking tour of Little Haiti, the cultural heart of the Haitian Diaspora. Learn about the waves of Haitian immigrants who sought refuge here in the ’80s, resulting in a bright, ever-present celebration of all things Caribbean that can be found in galleries, museums, family-owned restaurants, and bookstores.

Spice It Up Miami! is held every second Friday of the month at 7pm and the Chat Miami walking tour of Little Haiti begins at 6:00pm prior to the event and is sponsored by Little Haiti Cultural Complex, Chefs of the Caribbean, Presidente Beer, Show Technology, Blue Diamond Party Rental, Netwire and the Miami Urban Contemporary Experience.
