MIAMI - January 30, 2011 - Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s renowned Scarpetta and authentic Cantonese restaurant Hakkasan have won the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award. Since opening, both restaurants have received the respected award three times.
Hakkasan, currently the only Cantonese restaurant to receive the prestigious award in the U.S., is the first stateside outpost of the only Michelin-rated Chinese restaurant in the United Kingdom. In addition to a sumptuous and authentic dinner menu, the restaurant features amazing Dim Sum, served Saturday and Sunday at lunch for an affordable $28 per person – one of Miami’s most unbeatable dining deals.
Scarpetta’s award arrives on the heels of its third anniversary and the unveiling of its new glass-enclosed patio which overlooks the Fontainebleau poolscape and Atlantic Ocean. Recent menu additions include steak tartare accented with quail egg and crispy shiitake; butternut squash with almonds and parmigiano; and diver sea scallops adorned with chesnuts, butternut spaetzle and lobster guazetto.
“Hakkasan is truly a unique restaurant and a real gem. We’re thrilled that the AAA has given it and Scarpetta this unique distinction,” shares Jeff Klein, Vice President of Food & Beverage, Operations at Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
Recently, Scarpetta and Hakkasan also received high marks in Zagat’s 2012 America’s Top Restaurants Guide.
According to AAA, a four Diamond restaurant is geared to individuals in search of a distinctive fine-dining experience. Often orchestrated by an executive chef and an accomplished staff, menus reflect a high degree of creativity and complexity, using imaginative presentations to enhance high quality, market-fresh ingredients. The equally proficient service staff demonstrates a strong desire to meet or exceed guest expectations. A wine steward is typically available to provide menu-specific knowledge on wine selection. The ambiance is highly refined, comfortable and well-coordinated, incorporating quality materials and a variety of upscale design enhancements to give a first-class impression. The overall dining experience is typically expensive.
