Sardinia Enoteca Ristorante, Miami’s celebrated eatery serving rustic, Mediterranean-Italian fare, has announced the return of its summer specials in celebration of the abundantly fresh, bright flavors of the season. Since opening its doors in Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbor neighborhood in October 2006, Sardinia quickly established itself as a pioneering force in transforming the offbeat neighborhood into the foodie hub it is today. Co-owned by Italian born visionaries, restaurateur Antonio Gallo and executive chef Pietro Vardeu, the foodie haven has become one of Miami’s most popular dining destinations among locals and visitors alike by unremittingly impressing diners with a remarkable selection of beers, wine and cocktails at a vibrant bar, and a menu that showcases the simple, yet full flavored cuisine of Vardeu’s native Sardinia.
Starting June 1, 2013 the charming eatery is once again offering diners special three course prix-fixe menus available for lunch and dinner throughout June and July. Priced at $39 per person, the dinner menu runs from Sunday-Thursday from 4 p.m. until midnight while the lunch menu is priced at $23 per person and served seven days a week from noon until 4 p.m.; tax and gratuity not included. In tandem with this fabulous deal, Sardinia is re-launching its Wine & Dine special where guests will receive 40% off of select bottles of wine from its extensive, primarily Italian, wine list every Tuesday evening in June and July.
Sardinia’s dinner menu features many of the chef’s signature dishes inspired by years of honing his craft in high-profile kitchens in Italy, London, New York and Miami. Flavorful first course selections include porto cervo – radicchio, fennel, endive, orange and rughetta; moscardini – baby octopus with celery, black olives and tomatoes; or polpo – octopus carpaccio served with arugala, cherry tomatoes and olives. Mouthwatering second course options consist of housemade rigatoni with hot and sweet sausages and fresh peas; spaghetti vongole with baby clams, skinless tomatoes, fresh thyme and Vermentino; pollastrello – poulet rouge fermier stuffed with lemon and rosemary; or diver scallops wrapped with guanciale and pan seared in a saffron broth. A decadent dessert selected by the chef will be served to top off the meal.
The restaurant’s special lunch menu presents both light, and more robust options starting with the choice of soup of the day, or choice of a traditional Italian appetizer such as cozze – mussels with Vermentino wine, thyme, cherry tomatoes and fregola; impero – classic Caesar salad with ciabatta croutons and shaved Parmesan; or caprese with fresh housemade mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Succulent mainplate selections include gnocchi – housemade potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms and burrata; spaghetti carbonara with wild boar pancetta; panino tonato – Sardinian tuna fish with a side of sunny side up eggs; or grilled chicken breast served with roasted cherry tomatoes and string beans. End the meal on a sweet note with one of chef’s selected seasonal desserts.
