Northeast-based networking group, Industree, will plant its roots in Miami this summer with the official launch of its event-oriented brand, which focuses on strengthening the bonds of those who are part of the food and beverage community. Alisia Kleinmann, who has experience in multiple facets of the hospitality industry with past stints as a personal chef, food purveyor, private dining director and insurance broker, launched the organization in Washington, DC two years ago with hopes of serving as a bridge for the culinary community to learn, grow and connect both personally and professionally.
“South Florida’s hospitality industry is expanding at a rapid rate and with all of the exciting things happening here I thought it would be a perfect fit for Industree,” says Kleinmann. “Our goal is to create unique opportunities for everyone in the F&B community - whether you are a bus boy, banker or restaurant owner – to get together, share stories, learn some lessons and have some fun in the process!”
In addition to DC, successful chapters are up-and-running in Philadelphia and Atlanta with plans for expansion to more cities within the next year. Industree’s event line-up - which includes topics such as Heart of the House, The Business of Booze and Hail to The V (a celebration of women in the industry) - are known for their candid and authentic spirit. Kleinmann’s aspiration is for Industree to cultivate a community of seasoned industry innovators, future trailblazers and everyone in between to provide the connections, tools and real-life advice that make opportunities possible.
For the Miami launch, Industree will kick-off with their popular Heart of the House discussion on Monday, June 22from 4PM to 7PM at the acclaimed new steakhouse, Quality Meats Miami Beach. After a meet and greet in the restaurant’s bar and lounge, featuring signature cocktails and passed hors-d'oeuvres, attendees will sit down for the engaging panel which will be an open and honest forum for top toques and restaurateurs to share war stories and trials and tribulations as to how they became the best in the business. Moderating the panel will be the Miami Herald’s Food Editor and award-winning journalist, Evan Benn. Benn will be joined by a captivating panel of chefs and restauranteurs including Danny Serfer, Chef/Owner of Mignonette/Blue Collar; Todd Erickson, Executive Chef of HaVen Lounge/Huahua’s; Kevin Dillon, COO of Quality Meats; and Andreas Schreiner, Founding Partner of The Pubbelly Restaurant Group.
Serving as the inaugural Miami advisory board for Industree are notable local food and beverage veterans including: Chef Michelle Bernstein; Chef Norman Van Aken; nightlife guru Josh Wagner; Chef Danny Serfer; Larry Carrino and Karen Barofsky of Brustman Carrino PR; Andreas Schreiner, Founding Partner of The Pubbelly Restaurant Group; Chef Todd Erickson; Nick Nistico of Premier Beverage; and Dan Binkiewicz, Co-owner of Blackbird Ordinary and Purdy Lounge; Chef Allen Susser; and Dorothee Rubin, President of the Les Dames D’Escoffier Miami Chapter.
