Following recent concerns in the Wynwood over mosquitos that may have been carrying the Zika Virus, Miami Culinary Tours has decided to resume tour service to Wynwood on August 20th 2016.
Owner Grace Della made the heavy decision to push pause on the popular tour over concerns for her guests and employees. “First and foremost our guests are our #1 priority and that is what pushed our company to hold our tours in the area, but our partners that make our tour what it is... the restaurants, need to be considered as well. They have suffered enough with all the media hype and we want to continue showcasing what a marvelous part of town, Wynwood is. We have always been in the business of uplifting communities and showing the public the very best that Miami has to offer.“
Visitors into the area should note there is no widespread transmission of Zika in Miami-Dade County. Miami-Dade County's mosquito-control team is continually testing mosquitos for Zika and to date, none of the mosquitos have tested positive for Zika. This is a reassuring sign and further evidence that travel into Miami remains safe.
Miami Culinary Tours wants to make sure your tour is a worry free one, tour guides will have all-natural insect repellent available making sure that all the bases and bodies are covered. The two and a half hour walking tour explores all of the sights, sounds and tastes that Wynwood’s restaurants and Miami’s Art Community have to offer. The tour is currently being offered for $69 all inclusive of taxes and gratuities and covers five restaurants, visits to galleries and murals as well as the history of the world’s largest outdoor museum, Wynwood Walls.
