Mpp Brickell Introduces New Mouthwatering Menu Items

Diners can indulge in a variety of new authentic Peruvian dishes

MPP, a chic Peruvian restaurant and lounge, located in the heart of Brickell, opened its doors in November 2012. Owners Henry and Hector Malpartida along with business partner, Coco Mendoza, brought the dining concept to Miami after more than a decade of critical and popular acclaim in Lima, Peru. The fine dining destination, which has been well-regarded for its authentic Peruvian cuisine, is introducing a selection of new delicacies to its wildly popular menu. Crafted by a team of chefs hailing from the original restaurant in Lima, the items feature traditional Peruvian ceviches and tiraditos, cold and hot plates, soups, and main courses.

New tapas-style cold and hot plates include papita a la huancaina ($12), boiled potatoes with a choice of huancaina, ocopa, or rocoto pepper sauce; conchitas a la parmesana ($20), succulent scallops in the shell topped with parmesan; and langostinos pacific con kiwicha ($16), jumbo prawns wrapped in bacon and kiwicha. Diners can also enjoy house favorites such as the mixed carpaccio ($20), pulpo al olivo ($20), octopus with olive oil, and grilled prawn and scallop skewers ($20), among others.

Those looking for a true taste of Peru can delight in MPP’s fresh ceviche or the newly added Arroz Chaufa selections, a Peruvian twist on Chinese fried rice. Menu highlights include the popular MPP Ceviche ($22), with fish, crabmeat, Peruvian corn and sweet potato; three-pepper ceviche ($22) made with three kinds of creamy pepper sauce; fish and octopus tiradito ($20), with mild yellow peppers; or the newly added Nikkei ceviche ($20), tuna with ponzu sauce, sesame seeds and lime juice. A hearty variety of Arroz Chaufa ($16-$18), is now available with options including seafood, beef, and chicken or chiclayana rice ($16-$18) with a cilantro and duck reduction sauce, served with a choice of seafood or chicken.

Enticing new entrée selections include chicken saltado ($22), sautéed chicken with onions and tomatoes served with French fries; and chicken with mild yellow pepper sauce ($16) served with a bed of rice. An assortment of pasta selections are available including filet mignon with huancaina or pesto sauce ($24) served with fettucine; sautéed spaghetti ($16-$18) served with chicken, seafood or filet mignon; and fish stuffed with seafood au gratin ($23) in a brandy and parmesan sauce.

Offered Tuesday through Friday – especially great for locals who live and work in Brickell or Downtown Miami – diners can enjoy the two-course Executive Lunch special, from noon to 4p.m. Priced at $12.99 per person (excluding tax and gratuity), guests can choose from five featured appetizers and five entrées, with selections changing weekly.

The ambiance at MPP is the epitome of casual elegance. The restaurant evokes a cool vibe with a sleek, modern design, from the stunning white marble bar top to tangerine accents found in the alluring indoor lounge and outdoor patio.

Despite its contemporary blueprint, MPP makes diners feel warm and welcome. Cream leather upholstered booths in the dining room creates the perfect setting for intimate dinners, while soft, recessed lighting sets the mood. MPP’s indoor bar/lounge seats up to 35, and the ample dining room 130. The restaurant’s gorgeous outdoor patio lounge seats 25.
