Boia De restaurant, Alex Meyer and Luciana Giangrandi’s James Beard Award-nominated (semifinalist 2019) re-opened Friday June 26. The popular restaurant, which did a brisk take out business and ran a larder featuring hard-to-find, homemade and imported items during the shutdown, reopens its dining room one year to the day of its initial launch. In that time, the beloved eatery made every best new restaurant list in Florida including being named Miami's Restaurant of the Year by Eater.
With new COVID-19 protocols in place that limit dining to reservation-only and reducing restaurant capacity, the hidden gem serves up modern American cuisine with Italian influences. Signature dishes like Crispy Potato Skins with burrata, caviar and hard-boiled egg; and Pappardelle alla Lepre, rabbit sugo with tomato and rosemary remain on the menu, while delicious new dishes include Squash Blossoms with tempura, stuffed with salt cod brandade; Green Pea Garganelli with morel mushrooms, smoked trout roe and pecorino; and Ribeye Carpaccio redolent with summer truffle, bone marrow and bread crumbs. As always, menu selections will change frequently, based on seasonal ingredients.
Boia De is open 5:30PM to 10:30PM, Tuesdays through Sundays. Reservations required through Resy.com or at www.boiaderestaurant.com or (305)967-8866. The larder will remain, and be open the same days the restaurant is from 11:00AM to 5:00PM.
