On December 4, during Art Basel Miami, Barry Skolnick, Entrepreneur, Philanthropist and Owner of Ikonick Gallery together with world-renowned Artist Sacha Jafri, Carla Cid De Diego and Jonathan Fakinos of Art & Hope, as well as Raquel Dominguez of RD Premium Drinks, hosted an exclusive red-carpet event as they presented Art & Hope’s first-ever project with Jafri ‘The Power of the Reconnected World, inspired by Ikonick’ in aid of the Global Gift Foundation (GGF). GGF’s Mission is to create a positive impact on the lives of children, women, and families who are in a situation of vulnerability and/or risk of social exclusion.
The highly coveted star-studded event took place at Ikonick Gallery, home to some of the world's finest artworks and coveted automobiles, such as the unique Ferrari Monza SP02, better known as “Icona,” (one of only 499 units, valued at nearly $2 million each). Over 200 high-profile guests attended, including Kam Maleki, an art collector, curator, and director of Volta Artfairs in Basel, New York, and Miami, Model Tyson Beckford, Fashion Designer Jeff Hamilton, Rapper MPR Richie Rich, Recording Artist, and Songwriter Sean Kiez, Luieville, Mr. Ice, Dean Krauss, Doug Paull, Doris & Paul Richards, and Morgan & David Shara, to name a few.
Guinness World Record Holder Jafri, who sold his painting ‘The Journey of Humanity for USD $62 million to support those worst hit by the Covid-10 pandemic earlier this year, created a live painting during the event. Jafri announced he was starting the six-month creation in Miami and would continue to London, with a finish at his studio in Dubai.
The highlight of the night was a live auction of the Art Boxes and Jafri’s paintings, which raised a staggering USD $1 million. Each handcrafted box contains an original artwork from Jafri, an exclusive one-of-a-kind vintage champagne from Hatt et Soner, a membership to their exclusive by-invite only club where the owners of the Art Boxes can create their own vintage champagne, and a handcrafted jewel sculpture which was designed by Skolnick in collaboration with Jafri.
