Dolce Italian and Chef Paolo Dorigato introducing new menu

To celebrate the anniversary of its opening one year ago at the newly-renovated Gale South Beach, LDV Hospitality’s Dolce Italian and Chef Paolo Dorigato are introducing a number of delicious new menu items to the restaurant’s lunch and dinner menus. The recipient of rave reviews for serving honest, updated Italian classics since opening to the public in January 2013, the restaurant has become a South Beach favorite for its authentic Italian cuisine including house-made mozzarella, pastas, and killer pizzas from the wood-burning oven. Now, Dolce is adding a new grill menu, as well as a number of starters, pastas and main courses to its bill of fare. Regular diners need not fear -- signature dishes including the Dolce meatballs served over creamy polenta; the Tartufata – white pizza with speck, spicy salami and truffle oil, and the deceptively simple spaghetti al pomodoro will remain; augmented by other soon to be staples that demonstrate Chef Dorigato’s extraordinary skill with made from scratch cuisine.

New dishes restaurant guests will want to try include pork belly served with glazed apples and whole grain mustard, atop a bed of sautéed Tuscan kale or the little gem salad, featuring little gem lettuce, multi-colored roasted cauliflower florets, beets and goat’s milk cheese with a hazelnut vinaigrette. The duo of octopus offers the tasty cephalod prepared two ways: grilled with chickpeas, farro and a pistachio vinaigrette as well as served chilled with mustard potatoes, tomatoes and olives. Added to the stellar slate of pizzas fired to order in the dining room’s central oven is the beef carpaccio – a white pizza topped with carpaccio, truffle pecorino and arugula. New pastas include a robust linguine ai fruitti di mare generously studded with shrimp, scallops, a half lobster and topped with a red seafood sauce, while duck and foie gras stuffed tortelli are offered in a rich duck jus with burgundy truffles. Those seeking lighter flavors will enjoy lemon risotto with gulf shrimp and basil pesto as well as new roasted scallops wrapped in speck atop a sunchoke puree with wild mushrooms, and Chilean sea bass al guazzetto (slow-cooked) with spinach, ceci beans, shrimp & mussels and tomatoes. The new grill offers poultry and meat options including a 16 oz. ribeye, Australian rack of lamb, NY strip and ½ organic chicken, simply grilled to order and served with choice of marsala, salsa verde or cognac peppercorn sauce, accompanied by fingerling potatoes and cippolini onions.

Dolce Italian has also ramped up its lunch offerings; with a number of new salads, pastas and paninis. Rustic salads include the vegetable and farro salad, with artichokes, arugula, celery, sun dried tomatoes, speck and shaved parmesan and an endive salad with figs, apples, walnuts and goat cheese. Paninis include the Rustico Panini – short ribs and grain mustard on grilled country bread as well as the Dolce Panini – mozzarella, tomato, prosciutto di Parma and arugula pressed inside house made pizza bread. Other options include gnocchi pomodoro and a hearty pappardelle Bolognese, with eight different pizzas on offer as well.

Wednesday nights continue to offer half-priced half bottles of wine; with nearly twenty champagnes, reds and whites to choose from, the evening promises an affordable night out on the town.
