db bistro moderne was a special night out. I love this place because is "service and hospitality" at its best in Miami - and that sometimes that is a commodity (in Miami). I met my friend Lui for a night out at db bistro moderne because he said I was going to love it. And endeed I did. It is rare that I will not like a fine dinning restaurant, actually very rare. As much as I love to find that awesome hole-in-the-wall place, nothing compares to a night out to one of a kind restaurant that service is impeccable and ambiance is half of what makes the meal so appetizing. We entered this beautiful hotel located in the downtown Miami area, and walked straight up to the back room. This handsome room has tall bright pink walls designed Victorian style, at least that is what I thought that they wanted to achieve, that California-moderne type of interior design... maybe I'm wrong.
You know by now that not too much time can go by without me and Lui getting anxious if we do not grab a beautiful glass of white wine, and so we did and then proceeded to the menu. I selected the seared baked loc duart salmon (that is a mouth full) - and it was a masterpiece. The Salmon was cooked just right; not too overdone and not to raw which is key for salmon. The leeks accentuated the dish by providing a notable layer that did not take too much attention from the fish but still you were able to taste the presence of the delicate cooked leeks.
