City Hall - The Restaurant Begins Daily Lunch Service

Since opening for dinner just weeks ago, Biscayne corridor’s new down-home brasserie-style dining destination, City Hall – The Restaurant has quickly become a refuge for local food and wine enthusiasts, trendsetters, and politicos. Now, the restaurant, brainchild of seasoned restaurant veteran Steve Haas, is introducing daily lunch service, beginning Thursday, July 14, 2011. In addition to daily lunch service, on Sunday, July 24, 2011, the restaurant will roll-out Sunday Brunch with entertainment by South Florida’s favorite gospel singer, Maryel Epps, beginning at 10 a.m.

Available seven days a week, starting at 11:30 a.m., lunch at City Hall features moderately priced menu items by executive chef Tom Azar, who has created an eclectic menu featuring delicious starters, enticing salads, an expanded selection of sandwiches and several signature entrees.

Definite must-haves include a City Hall French onion soup ($7.75); pan-fried jumbo lump crab cake ($14.50) with sweet corn salsa, Creole tartar sauce and crispy leeks; crisp prosciutto de parma pizza ($12) topped with roasted butternut squash, fresh thyme, goat cheese and extra virgin olive oil; shrimp po’boy ($15.50) made with crispy fried shrimp, on a freshly baked hoagie roll, topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and drizzled with Creole tartar sauce. Sumptuous wraps, including the B.L.T. wrap ($12) with thick-cut Applewood bacon, fried egg with confit tomato, braised Swiss chard, pepper jack cheese, and herb mayo, round out the menu.

Refreshing salads, include a beautiful Thai steak salad ($15) with sliced, juicy marinated skirt steak, red cabbage, watercress, mint, cilantro, carrot, shaved radish, toasted cashews, crispy wontons and spicy Thai chili vinaigrette as well as a baby spinach salad ($12.75) – thick-cut Applewood bacon, vine ripe tomato and truffle deviled eggs, dressed with a creamy herb dressing. Tender seared mahi-mahi ($17) is served with vegetable quinoa, wilted spinach, lemon and extra virgin olive oil. A bevy of sides ($6-$7), abound with selections ranging from hand-cut French fries and green onion jasmine rice to creamed spinach and baby French green beans.

A seat in City Hall’s second floor “Power Lunch Room,” guarantees a bird’s eye view of the 6,000 sq. foot, Art Deco inspired restaurant which features an 80 ft. long light box mural stretching across one wall created by artist Andrew Reid, and a painted mural by Miami-based artist Michelle Rojas. Perched upstairs, diners are sure to rub elbows with some of South Florida’s top movers and shakers.
