A Sugar Rush At Buena Vista Deli (little Haiti) Worth The Extra Calories

I don't recall exactly how I found Buena Vista Deli in Little Haiti, probably on my way back from Fratelli Lyon. I love this part of town, those two-three blocks where you find Mandolin, Buena Vista Bistro and recently another little place just opened up (which I have to yet experience), but I stopped at Buena Vista Deli and could not believe my eyes.

I love the whole feeling at this deli, it reminds me of places where I grew up where you have a friendly smile and a caring owner always on site. As soon as I walked in, the owner, a young French guy, said hello with a big smile and I asked if I could take some pictures for Miami Culinary Tours blog. He took me to the kitchen and showed me how they make all of the pastries and introduced me to their pastry chef. He so proudly said they make all of it there (besides the bread).

Below is a round up of all the pastries I got that day!

(and yep, they did not last for long, they were all gone by the end of SNL that night)
