Brasserie Central Celebrates First Anniversary With Week Of Celebrations

Drawing acclaim and loyal fans since it’s opening in late November 2014 by virtue of award-winning Chef/Restaurateur Pascal Oudin’s affordable, authentic and amazing casual French faire, Brasserie Central, located at The Village of Merrick Park,celebrates its first anniversary with a week full of celebrations from Tuesday, November 17 through Wednesday, November 25, 2015.


Kicking-off the festivities on November 17, will be a day and night full of cheer wherein each guest will receive a complimentary glass of Champagne, wine or beer, along with a freshly baked gougère, a savory pastry made of choux dough mixed with cheese. Guests will also have the chance to win a special dinner for two to Brasserie Central’s sister restaurant Pascal’s on Ponce; business cards for the raffle are being collected at Brasserie Central now through November 17.

Celebrations will continue on Beaujolais Noveaux Day, Thursday, November 19, with a special unveiling and tasting of the first wine of the season. ComplimentaryBeaujolais Noveaux tastings will be available throughout the day, along with half-off all hors d’oeuvres and a special Beaujolais Noveaux prix-fixe menu for $39.95(menu listed below). Guests will also be able to find a perch for The Village of Merrick Park’s official tree lighting ceremony, taking place from 6:30pm-8:30 pm at Merrick Park’s Main Garden, just beside Brasserie Central’s beautiful courtyard.Beaujolais Nouveau Day is marked in France as the third Thursday in November and celebrated with fireworks, music and festivals. Under French law, the wine is released at 12:01 a.m., just weeks after the wine's grapes have been harvested. Parties are held throughout the country and worldwide to celebrate the first wine of the season.

Executive Chef Fabien Micard’s bona fide French menu displays time-honored techniques and traditions, geared to please the palates of the many moods of life. Using high-quality imported and local goods, Brasserie Central dishes out delights such as housemade sausages, pate and charcuterie; artisanal cheeses; full raw bar; traditional hors d’oeuvres, salads, sandwiches, and main plates; classic stove-to-table cocotte stews; and et Patisserie, or dessert. Sporting a casual, rustic elegance, Brasserie Central is Old World meets New World with exposed butcher block tables, bistro chairs, a 14-person communal table, large indoor/outdoor bar (seating 18) andle comptoir – the intimate oyster and raw bar. Along the walls, antiqued mirrors display the 24 regions of France and their signature dishes, while mammoth chalkboards don chef’s specials and cocktails. Modern lighting fixtures lead the eye down the long room, awash in woods, slates and hints of deep red, to an open kitchen and private dining room. Located along the bridge, across from Yard House, the restaurant also offers abundant outdoor seating.
