The innovators behind the South of France-inspired Villa Azur Restaurant & Lounge on Miami Beach, are set to open their newest concept, Brasserie Azur, in the flourishing neighborhood of Midtown Miami, August 2015. Brasserie Azur is sure to be a chic, hip and casual eatery where guests can spend their day and night à la française. Showcasing French fare with Mediterranean influences, Brasserie Azur will distinguish itself by offering classic and hearty cuisine in a rustic modern setting, while capitalizing on the spirit of its thriving Midtown surroundings.
Geared toward the casually stylish, Brasserie Azur will offer an approachable menu for lunch and dinner along with brunch in a vibrant and lively atmosphere that caters to trendy diners. An indulgent happy hour is also offered weekdays from of 4 to 8 p.m. highlighting a number of specialty priced lip-smacking libations and light bites. The authentic brasserie features individual culinary stations that will offer guests an eclectic display of food. Ranging from a chicken rotisserie oven and a seafood bar, to a sprawling wine bar with a communal table, guests can indulge in casual cocktails with friends or dine à deux. For the on the go patron, the express lunch menu allows for a two course meal in 45 minutes or less.
Flawlessly designed by Francois Frossard, who has devised some of the most recognizable restaurants and nightclubs in the United States and abroad, the rustic modern and intimate space will feature seating for 110 indoors and 80 outdoors. The dining room boasts stone tabletops with rural benches and chairs designed to accommodate both intimate and large parties. Walls and columns of exposed brick offset the Tuscan pergola ceilings laced with bougainvillea flowers. Innovative ambient lighting will be setting the mood for an energetic atmosphere for diners to embrace. The outside walls are lined with citrus trees with a beautiful running fountain to accent the French brasserie.
Executive Chef Erwin Mallet will helm Brasserie Azur’s kitchen, with Chef Michael Bujold working under his wing. Hailing from some of France’s top kitchens including Pastis, Tantra, and Guerite, Chef Erwin’s inspiration stems from the freshest ingredients and flavors of the South of France combined with an international and contemporary twist from South Beach. Behind the brasserie’s delicious French pastries is Pastry Chef François Paille who has perfected his craft in renowned pastry shops, such as Lafay and Pepin, where he competed and won several competitions in chocolate making.
Brasserie Azur’s lunch and dinner menu will feature delectable plates such as the butterflied whole grilled branzino with fennel and lemon; roast beef slices au jus served with homemade mashed potatoes; and the chicken paillard marinated with lemon herbs, served with arugula and cherry tomato salad. For dessert, guests can indulge in sweet creations such as the pistachio macaron, the tiramisu tart, and the caramelized meringue lemon tart which can be paired with delicious French dessert wines. For the patron who cannot choose just one dessert, the typical French dessert charriot glides to customers to offer an assortment of options, including a traditional cheesecake, chocolate mousse, and apple tart.
Brasserie Azur will also host a weekend brunch with an array of French boulangerie, hearty egg dishes including the classic Oeufs Bénédicte, and beloved hamburguers, like the Brasserie Azur, with pan seared Foie Gras and truffle dressing. Guests will have the option of bottomless mimosas for $25.
Brasserie Azur will be open 7 days a week, from 11am to 12am (Sun-Thu), and from 11am to 2am (Fri-Sat)
