One of this season’s hot new restaurants, Lightkeepers, at The Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, Miami has launched weekend brunch. Kick back, relax and enjoy the ultimate brunch experience while overlooking the Atlantic. Brunch is served a la carte on Saturday 12PM – 4PM and buffet style on Sunday 12:30PM – 3PM. All menus, crafted by Executive Chef Raul A. Del Pozo, feature the freshest seafood and land dishes from South Florida’s waters and local farms.
On Saturdays, guests can start with items such as $1 East Coast Oysters; Crispy Crab Cake with citrus preserve, Old Bay remoulade; Lobster Mac and Cheese with Velveeta Béchamel, Winter Park dairy cheddar or Lamb and Chorizo Empanadas with olive, raisin and pimiento. Refreshing garden salad and sandwich options like the Beets and Burratta with roasted and raw beets, heirloom cherry tomatoes, foraged mushrooms, pumpkin oil and Rocco’s Burrata, which is sourced just down the street from the resort; Young Kale and Belgium Endive with sand pears, heirloom radish, Cypress Point Creamery Havarti, cured papaya, pear vinaigrette and the Blackened Mahi Sandwich with garden lettuces, heirloom tomato and garlic aioli are perfect options before hitting the Miami heat. Heartier items include the Miami Hash with congris, shredded and crispy vaca frita beef, salsa verde and two eggs any style; Cinnamon Swirl French Toast with hazelnut crumble and cherry preserve butter; and The Keeper’s Wife with local grilled artisan country levain, 63° poached egg, shaved asparagus, tomato jam, Hollandaise, crab and avocado. Shared dishes for the table include Brussels Sprouts, Charred Cauliflower, Patatas Bravas, Smoked Bacon, Palmetto Creek Sausage and Lake Meadow Eggs.
Sunday brunch is all about options for the family. Priced at $89 per adult and $39 per child ages 5 to 12, plus tax and gratuity, brunch, which rotates weekly, includes several interactive culinary stations and an impressive spread of savory dishes and sweets. A huge array of cold selections, salads, chilled seafood and raw bar and bakery items will get you started. Standouts include Carrot, Ginger and Apple Juice Shots; Assortment of Domestic and International Charcuteries and Cheese; Duck Confit Crostini with Orange Jam; Compressed Watermelon, Feta and Micro Mint; American Caviar; Blue Point Oysters on the half shell; Poached Shrimp; Snow Crab Claws; Butter and Chocolate Croissant; and Pastelito Cinnamon Danish. Can’t miss breakfast items include an Omelet Station; Pork Sausage; Pecan Wood Bacon and you can even make your own waffles.
Dive into hot entrees with carving stations of Smoked Tri Tip and Cider Vinegar Sauce and Grilled Grouper and Spicy Mango Salsa and additional entrees like Korean Short Ribs with kimchee and ginger and garlic green beans; Seafood Boil with shrimp, clams, mussels, corn and Kielbasa sausage; Crispy Soft Shell Crab with wakame salad and Sriracha aioli. If you still have room for more, dessert selections include items such as the S’more Pie; Truffles and Chocolate Almond Chocolate Pretzels and the Cherry and Black Pepper Crème Brulee.
Both days offer a bottomless beverage and bubbly package that will get your day started out right. Add unlimited bubbly, brunch punch, sangria, bloody mary’s, draft beer and mimosas for $25 per person, plus tax and gratuity.
