BLT Steak at The Betsy Hotel on South Beach has drawn raves for its casually luxurious setting and classic American steakhouse fare. On New Year’s Eve, ring-in the New Year in refined elegance as The Betsy returns to the Miami Beach heydays of the 1940’s, with swinging live entertainment, nostalgic décor and fun party-favors. The restaurant will serve a pre-fixe dinner during its first seating, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., priced at $130 per person. To begin, diners will enjoy celeriac soup with smoked sturgeon, chestnuts and caviar. For the second-course, diners can choose between Syrah poached foie gras with black pepper gastrique, golden raisins and saffron; main lobster with 6-minute egg, fingerling potato and artichoke salad, Serrano ham and truffle Brigoule; or jumbo lump crabmeat with asparagus, sauce choron and grilled country bread. Main-courses range from filet rossini with foie gras, spinach, garlic pomme puree and port wine reduction to Atlantic halibut with caramelized parsnip, kale, bone marrow gremolata and pistachio tuille. Decadent desserts to choose from include dark chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, blackberry port sauce and hazelnut ice cream; confit honey crisp apple with petit beurre and Vermont crème fraiche; or egg nog cheesecake with cinnamon ice cream and spiced sable.
BLT Steak will also offer a five-course, pre-fixe dinner menu during its second seating, from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m., priced at $225 per person. The first two courses reflect those listed above. For the third-course dining selections include burrata cheese ravioli with charred eggplant, pickled white turnip and pine nuts; diver scallop ‘En Cocotte’ with braised pork cheek, Beluga lentils and pickled mustard seed; or Atlantic halibut with caramelized parsnip, kale, bone marrow gremolata and pistachio tuille. Main-courses range from balsamic glazed squab with barley and bacon risotto, smoked black figs, black trumpet mushrooms and onion jus; walnut crusted lamb loin with goat cheese and chanterelle mushroom tart, baby fennel and Huckleberry jus; to filet rossini with foie gras, spinach, garlic pomme puree and port wine reduction. Dessert options include the same dishes being offered during the first seating. A complimentary glass of champagne will be given to guests along with their meal.
