With the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach Wine & Food Festival 2017 right around the corner, BLT Prime located at the Trump National Doral, is offering guests a limited preview of their entry in the festival’s famed marquis event, the Heineken Light Burger Bash presented by Schweid & Sons hosted by Rachael Ray. From Friday, February 17th through Sunday, February 26th, BLT Prime’s Chef de Cuisine Dustin Ward will showcase his contending BLT Duck Burger – Hudson Valley duck, miso aioli, and pickled Brussels sprouts – which can be ordered at the bar or in the dining room for lunch only leading up to the main event and even two additional days following.
After winning titles at both the Las Olas Wine & Food Festival 2016 and the Miami New Times Iron Fork/
Miami Spice Kickoff Event 2016, Chef Ward is primed for a strong shot at the trophy at the festival’s beloved Burger Bash®, competing against chefs from across America, including last years’ winner of Schweid & Sons Very Best Burger Award, Jersey Dawg and the Amstel Light People’s Choice winner, Morimoto.
“Participating in the festival’s Burger Bash is an honor on its own, but to be competing against some of the best around makes it that much more exciting,” said Chef Dustin Ward. “I’m planning on bringing the heat this year to continue my winning streak! I’m inviting anyone who cannot attend the event to come in and get a taste of what we hope will be this year’s winning burger!”
This year’s esteemed panel of judges includes Ayesha Curry, Emilio Estefan, Jill Martin, Rev Run and Adam Richman, who will decide whose burger will take home this year's Schweid & Sons Very Best Burger Award. The Heineken Light Burger Bash will take place on Friday, February 24th from 7:30PM to 10:30PM beachside at The Ritz-Carlton, South Beach. Tickets are available at sobewff.org, and all proceeds from the Festival benefit the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University.
