Barry’s Gourmet Brownies: 18 Months of Sweet Success Decadent Treats Company Expands Distribution to Costco

Barry’s Gourmet Brownies are enjoying a sweet ride filled with baked-goods bliss. This Tampa area bakery has barely reached its second birthday, yet they’ve expanded distribution across the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean and beyond. In fact, Barry’s Gourmet Brownies are now available at all Costco Southeast locations.

Costco features a 24-pack of two-ounce chocolate chunk brownies (prices may vary), on sale now.

“It’s been amazing to watch the rocket-propelled launch our company has been honored to experience,” said Barry’s Gourmet Brownies’ President and CEO, Doug Byrd. “To have the products on Costco shelves is a true milestone.”

Byrd launched Barry’s Gourmet Brownies in 2013 after he purchased a legendary brownie recipe from his close friend Barry. Barry’s recipe was time tested and quite popular in his circle of family and friends and beloved at the 2013 Festival of Chocolate in Tampa. Byrd knew a good brownie when he tasted one, bought the recipe and set about creating the coveted sweet treats in a large-scale production facility.

In the past 18 months, Barry’s Gourmet Brownies has expanded its product line to include nine flavors of original or double layered brownies, hired over 100 employees, showcased brownies at the 2014 Emmy awards, MTV Movie Awards, the Breeder’s Cup and was named top three finalist in Convenience Store Products Magazine’s best new products 2014 issue. Additionally, Barry’s Gourmet Brownies will be tasted at the 2015 Golden Globe Awards, and will be a 2015 corporate sponsor of the Orlando Magic.

“We are poised for record sales growth in 2015,” said Byrd. “Success tastes very sweet.”
