December 3 -10 - Nautilus South Beach: Art Exhibitions and Pop-up

PARTIES:

Vik Muniz and Galeria Nara Roesler — a partnership with Jason Pomeranc and Galeria Nara Roesler on Thursday, December 6 to honor the work of Vik Muniz during Miami Beach Art Basel with a few pieces (as part of the gallery’s collection) on display at the hotel and available for sale. Guest List only.

INSTALLATIONS:

Suzy Kellems Dominik's INVISIBLE — Following her I Can Feel 12-foot neon sculpture of a vagina that poetically objectified the female orgasm last year, Suzy Kellems Dominik's forthcoming exhibition, INVISIBLE, presents an ongoing examination of the female form through a series of soft-sculpture totems illuminated by a white-neon caption rendered in the artist’s handwriting stating: “for without feet, one cannot escape.” A monumental sculptural installation that surrealistically presents the female body and investigates the social and cultural implications of beauty and age.

It will be installed in the lobby. Free access, non-ticketed from Monday, December 3rd to Sunday, December 9th. On Wednesday, December 5th at 12 PM, there will be an all-female panel discussion inside of the lobby bar to further explore contemporary artistic modes of storytelling, oral history and autobiography as antidote for and vindication of the female condition. Viewer participation is encouraged. Take part in the story by following the artist on Instagram at @suzykellemsdominik and tagging #SuzyKellemsDominik.

Fab 5 Freddy — presented by Half Gallery and Harper’s Books in the Nautilus Hotel Library, a series of fighter portraits ranging (and overlapping) in subject matter from Boxing Legend Jack Johnson to Kung Fu Master Bruce Lee to Blaxplotation Star Jim Kelly. Open to the public from Wednesday, December 5th to Thursday, December 6th from 11 AM to 5 PM.

Nautigrind Café x Chillhouse — Chillhouse is having a pop-up offering a destination for modern self-care at Nautigrind café, where there will be offering spa services like their iconic manicures, Shop Chill and café services.
