Alligator Bites at Kush Wynwood

At Kush Wynwood, the kitchen definitely knows how to handle alligator. As weird as alligator meat may sound, it is actually quite appealing when handled the right way.Matthew Kuscher, the owner, has a passion for serving only sustainable and clean proteins, following a farm to table type of concept. This passion makes for some of the best food in the area, with beef that is ground in house every morning, vegetables that are coming from the Redlands, and fish caught by local fishermen. The same care into ingredient sourcing is applied to the gator, which is then flash fried to produce a clean tasting and perfectly cooked dish. Instead of the rubberiness that usually comes with alligator due to overcooking, Kush has mastered the art of cooking this protein and simply seasoning it with Cajun spices, letting the meat speak for itself. The texture is similar to chicken with a taste reminiscent to fish, making it a pleasant experience to anyone trying it. The portion is extremely generous and affordably priced.

Kush is know for having the best beer selection in all of Miami, so make sure to enjoy in the libations while you are there. The hip atmosphere and quirky clientele will make for a unique experience.
