Locals who know about The Abbey Brewing Company keep it in regard as a hangout to get away from the tourists and typical Miami Beach life. Miami Beach may be known for being a culinary landscape of high regard, but when it comes to the craft beer scene, this area of the city is not necessarily the most known. While other area in South Florida like Oakland Park and Wynwood are home to breweries that are becoming extremely established on a national level, you’d be lucky to find bars even offering a decent selection of craft beer in areas like South Beach. Established in 1995, the Abbey is Miami Beach’s oldest and only brew-pub. They have four house beers brewed on premises, but they also offer a selection of 10 guest beers that range from Belgian ales to local beers. We recommend Brother Aaron’s Quadruple Ale, a strong beer that tastes of dark chocolate and caramelized raisins with a hint of toffee.
