On the Wynwood Food Tour, we visit Jimmy’z Kitchen for Puerto Rican cuisine, and the tour guide describes the chicken mofongo we are eating. After learning about Wynwood’s growing community, we cross the street to Suviche where we admire the beautiful mural that graces the patio. Inside Suviche restaurant, the Peruvian-Japanese fusion brings us some of the best ceviche in town.
Next, we find ourselves in Italy. Well, it feels like we are in Italy when we enter this rustic Italian deli and wine bar. Hundreds of wines decorate the walls, and elaborate chandeliers provide romantic lighting. The sandwiches on display make mouths water. We are here to try their villagio cheese. As we enjoy the creamy cheese, we explore the establishment and revel in the great detail paid to the interior decor.
Now that we have finished our pre-dessert, it is time for key lime pie. This is Florida’s yummiest dessert, courtesy of the Keys where key limes flourish. This delightful pie is perfectly sour and sweet, and at Fireman Derek’s there is no skimping on the condensed milk. Every bite is rich in texture and leaves behind a pleasant coat of sugary goodness around the walls of the mouth.
