Handcrafted Hospitality Brings Iconic Mexican Concept to Plantation Walk

Tacocraft Taqueria & Tequila Bar, South Florida’s beloved spot for Mexican cuisine and killer cocktails, will officially open to the public on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 321 North University Drive in West Broward’s new luxury dining and shopping complex, Plantation Walk. The fourth outpost of esteemed restaurant group, Handcrafted Hospitality, Tacocraft will be a welcomed addition to the community and fill the city’s demand for exciting, approachable dining destinations.

According to Handcrafted founder Marc Falsetto, “Plantation will be the largest of the four Tacocrafts and we anticipate it will become the place to go in the area. Whether it’s for a weeknight dinner with the kids, a business lunch with colleagues, or a fun-filled girls’ night out, Tacocraft offers something for everyone and we can’t wait to open our doors.”

With established locations in downtown Fort Lauderdale, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and South Miami, the opening of the fourth location will mark another victory for Falsetto, along with partners Anthony Bruno, Pat Marzano, Dan Marino and Paul Castronova, the founders of Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. A local success story, the premier hospitality group boasts a portfolio of triumphs in the South Florida dining scene including Tacocraft, Pizza Craft, Henry’s Sandwich Station and The Apothecary 330.

Under the direction of Robbyns Martinez, Corporate Chef of Handcrafted Hospitality, the menu at Tacocraft marries tradition with modern, and features made-from-scratch dishes using only the freshest of ingredients. Guests can start with an array of Guacamoles ranging from the Classic and Tropical to Sweet Potato and Bacon & Corn, served individually or in a flight; Snacks like Oxtail Empanadas, Mexican Street Corn, and Roasted Butternut Squash; and Raw Bar offerings like Tuna Poke Tacos, Ceviche Blanco and Wild Shrimp Aguachile. Ensaladas, all gluten-free, include a Mexican Caesar, Chopped Salad, and the signature Tacocraft Kale Salad with avocado, heirloom tomato, pepitas, agave-glazed sweet potato, cranberries and cotija tossed with a creamy garlic dressing.

Tacocraft’s eclectic lineup of Tacos run the gamut from classic to creative and includes Chicken Al Pastor – achiote marinade, charred pineapple, crispy kale, pickled red onion and avocado-tomatillo sauce; Carne Asada – grilled skirt steak, queso fresco, refried black beans, garlic chimichurri aioli and watercress; Korean Short Rib – sweet & spicy glaze, pickled cucumbers, Asian slaw, green onion and gochujang aioli; Key Lime Grouper – blackened grouper, jicama slaw, mango corn relish, avocado and key lime aioli; and Exotic Shroom – mushroom confit, roasted corn, cotija cheese, truffle crema, cilantro, amongst many others.

Entrées are equally enticing and include Red Mole Brick Chicken – Joyce Farms Heritage half chicken, achiote guajillo rub, red mole, heirloom tomato and cucumber salad; sizzling Fajitas and Skirt Steak, fire-grilled, served with with chile de árbol chimichurri, refried black beans and crispy tostones. Decadent desserts include Churro Ice Cream Sandwich, Tequila Caramel Flan and Tres Leches Bread Pudding.

Tacocraft’s wildly-popular bar program features signature handcrafted Margaritas including the Tacocraft Platinum – 818 Tequila, Grand Marnier, lime juice, agave nectar with a salt rim; Jalapeño Cucumber – 21 Seeds Cucumber Jalapeño, muddled jalapeños, fresh lime juice with a sugar rim; Passionfruit – Espolon Blanco, Anchos Reyes Chile, fresh lime juice, passion fruit and hibiscus; and Mango – Burrito Fiestero Mezcal, JF Haden’s Mango, agave nectar and fresh lime juice. The restaurant will also offer an array of other lively cocktails such as Tequila Mojito – Cazadores Blanco, La Pinta Pomegranate Liqueur, passion fruit puree, fresh lime juice and Hellfire bitters; Grilled Pineapple Old Fashioned – Papa’s Pilar Rum, Filthy Cherry syrup, muddled grilled pineapple, bitters and filthy cherry; Smoke in the Garden – Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, St. Germain, hibiscus syrup, fresh lime juice, muddled mint and a Mexican tajin rim; and Guava Mamma – Bacardi Rum, St. Germain, fresh lime juice and guava puree. There will also be a selection of on tap and canned cervezas and wines available.

Designed by P2 Design, the 4,000-square-foot space’s focal point is the expansive outdoor bar, the first of its kind for the concept. An additional bar inside, as well as two patios, offer abundant seating for 125 indoors and 50 outdoors. Known for its funky and energetic vibe, the space combines chic style with modern comfort and features the concept’s iconic bright green accents, colorful works of hand selected art, woven light fixtures and velvet seating.

Tacocraft will open to the public on Friday, March 18, 2022 at 321 North University Drive in the new Plantation Walk. The restaurant will be open Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:30AM – 11PM; Tuesday and Friday from 11:30AM – Midnight; Saturday from 11AM – Midnight; and Sunday 11AM – 11PM.
