OTC, Brickell’s popular gastropub, announces it will close its doors in just over a week after three successful years of serving up of modern American fare and rare craft micro brews in the heart of the neighborhood’s bustling restaurant corridor. The unexpected shutter comes as Owner/Operator Michael Sullivan pursues the next exciting chapter of his culinary career: a new restaurant concept that he promises is unparalleled in Brickell, complete with a fresh design and stellar new chef, slated to open late summer.
Lovers of OTC’s rustic comfort food, killer burgers and extensive craft beer selection needn’t fret just yet, as Sullivan invites regulars, fans and those who just never made it in quite enough to get their final fix of fresh, made from scratch, favorites such as the 2015 Burgie Award-winning Green Chili & Bacon burger – a juicy all natural beef patty topped with charred poblano peppers, crisp bacon, melted cheddar and cool cilantro mayo; the not-to-miss Thai Chicken Wings with Thai chili glaze and cabbage-papaya slaw; and the Truffle Steak Frite Wrap – tender grilled hanger steak with caramelized onions, fresh kale, crispy fries and truffle mayo; with a slew of specials, as well as regular breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch service, all week long.
A Monday–Friday, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Happy Hour featuring five $5 shareable plates, select $3.50 craft beers and $4-$5 wines – as well as an all-day Farewell Fridaycelebration, June 19, 2015, featuring $5 select craft beers – round out the offerings. Revelers can also treat Dad to one last OTC brunch during the restaurant’s final service, Sunday, June 21 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., with a specialFather’s Day version, featuring their lauded menu of shareable plates, OTC signatures, jazzed-up brunch classics and more, as well as $20 bottomless mimosas and $5 beers for good ‘ol pops.
Although incredibly charged, Sullivan is keeping tight-lipped about his new restaurant, “OTC has had a great run – built up a bunch of praise and loyal regulars who we love – and I couldn’t be happier. But I’m ridiculously excited about this next concept, my talented new chef and the incredible way we’re weaving in my obsession with rare, seasonal and limited release craft beers. This is something the city needs and I think Miami will love it!”
OTC will continue normal business hours from now until Sunday, June 21 when it will open for brunch only. “Brunch has always been our favorite and most popular service,” says Sullivan. “With our hearty menu and massive list of kick-ass brews, I couldn’t imagine a better closing performance than one that honors dad.”
