Party at Cervecería La Tropical

Date/Time: Thursday, December 2 at 5PM

Cover: $10, includes one complimentary beer. Tickets available HERE.

Cuba’s oldest brewery opened a new and permanent home in Wynwood in February 2021 after being seized by the communist Cuban government in the 1960s. For the brewery’s first Miami Art Week, La Tropical will be hosting a Havana Nights White Party to celebrate the launch of a limited edition Miami Art Week can with Cuban artist Rigo Leon, who was recently part of McDonald’s Ritmo y Color campaign celebrating Hispanic culture and pride. Leon also painted the murals outside the brewery and has his own personal ties to the brand by way of his mother, who was a model for the original brewery in Cuba. On Thursday, December 2, La Tropical will be celebrating the debut of the limited-edition 16oz. cans of La Original, the brewery’s flagship beer made with the original recipe dating back to 1888. Starting at 5PM, guests will enjoy Live music by Machaka and special giveaway bundles throughout the night. The giveaways are open to the public and guests can enter HERE. Winners will be announced at the event. In addition to the can launch portion of the evening, La Tropical will be exhibiting several installations by contemporary Cuban artist Sandra Ramos with seven supporting artists. One of Ramos’ most engaging pieces, “90 Miles,” a runway installation spanning 30ft, will be on display in the taproom until December 12, giving guests the opportunity to literally walk on art, making it a perfect photo opp during Miami Art Week. Ramos’ complete exhibit “OXYGEN is a bridge of art between Cuba and the United States” also includes video projects by Ramos, Leon, and seven other artists that will be exhibited during the event. La Tropical’s full menu of craft beers and Latin-Caribbean cuisine by Chef Cindy Hutson will also be available. Cervecería La Tropical is located at 42 NE 25th Street in Wynwood. www.cervecerialatropical.com
