ROGER DUARTE BIO:
Passionate, resilient, and driven, Roger Duarte is a serial entrepreneur to his core. Born in Miami to two Nicaraguan parents, Roger was fortunate enough to spend his early years in Monterrey, Mexico. Eventually, he attended boarding school at Valley Forge Military Academy and afterwards, graduated from Gulliver Preparatory in Miami. Soon after, he proceeded to study in Boston at Suffolk University and finished his degree in Business Management and Entrepreneurship from Barry University. The diversity of his education and the many locations he has lived grant him a unique understanding of business practices and company development.
Eager and driven, Roger launched his career as an Investment Banker with a focus on M&A and capital raising for LATAM. By 24, he decided to leave behind Investment Banking and pursued his love of Stone Crabs. Roger opened what is now George Stone Crab, which has become the 2nd top wholesaler and e-commerce seller of stone crabs nationwide. Roger was recognized by Forbes as top entrepreneur in its annual 30 Under 30 and was named ‘Stone Crab King’ in Bloomberg’s Businessweek.
His drive led him to open up My Ceviche, a local Peruvian-inspired fast-casual favorite, Zuuk Mediterranean Kitchen, a health-conscious vegetarian-friendly concept, as well as El Tropico Cuban Kitchen. With 7 total locations open in Miami Dade, Roger continues to commit his time and expertise to growing his businesses and promoting a positive workplace environment. He values every employee, every customer, and always strives to bring fresh ideas to the table, surpassing the status quo.
In his free time, Roger enjoys reading, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying his favorite foods, specifically Japanese and Mexican cuisines! He’s a fan of Tony Robbins and has taken his Business Mastery and Date with Destiny courses. Additionally, he’s an avid biker and participates in triathlons when he can. He dedicates an extraordinary amount of time to developing his companies but also values a work life balance. Striving for the perfect cocktail of working hard and enjoying life describes Roger well!
