On Tuesday, August 25, 2015, the Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa will welcome Tupelo – a unique pop up restaurant concept by 3030 Ocean chef de cuisine Adrienne Grenier. Taking inspiration from the Tupelo tree, whose very short bloom season produces a rare type of honey, this limited-time pop up will give guests the opportunity to experience Chef Grenier’s signature cooking style, which won her the title of champion on Food Network’s Chopped.
Chef Adrienne Grenier has developed Tupelo to be a one-of-a-kind eatery for hotel guests and locals to enjoy while 3030 Ocean undergoes an expansive renovation and is closed to the public. Tupelo will be open from Monday, August 24th to Friday, October 23rd in the resort’s Riva restaurant space, for dinner service only, beginning at 6PMseven nights a week.
The concept’s imaginative menu consists of a variety of small and large plates, and sweet treats, perfectly paired with a creative list of hand-crafted cocktails; the menu is thoughtfully designed to encourage sharing and emphasize fresh, seasonal, high quality and locally-sourced ingredients.
Plates will include warm cheddar biscuits with honey butter ($9), smoked fish dip with grilled bread ($11) androasted beets served with a parsley-walnut pesto, arugula and goat cheese ($14). Guests will also be able to share several farm-to-table inspired items like the rock shrimp pasta with garlic, tomato and basil ($17); seared scallopswith creamy polenta and charred corn succotash ($19); roasted chicken with chorizo rice grits and black bean puree ($21); and Palmetto Creek Farms Jim’s pork chop hickory rubbed, served with smashed potatoes, brussels and mustard ($30). Tupelo’s delectable desserts include fresh berries & cream – tupelo honey and shortbread ($12);warm chocolate brownie – walnuts, dulce de leche and vanilla ice cream ($12); and an old fashioned favorite – root beer float ($10).
The 128-seat pop up’s upbeat music will accentuate the Riva space’s personable and inviting atmosphere; the dining room’s communal tables will encourage warm and friendly interactions among diners.
A South Florida native, Chef Adrienne Grenier has spent much of her career at 3030 Ocean under the tutelage of acclaimed chefs Paula DaSilva and Dean Max. In 2011, Chef Grenier’s work with DaSilva at 1500° at Eden Roc Renaissance Miami Beach helped win the restaurant a coveted spot as the only Florida restaurant in food critic John Mariani’s annual Esquire magazine feature, “The Best New Restaurants in America.” Her passion for food and cooking also led her to become a champion on Food Network’s popular culinary competition Chopped in January of 2012.
Beginning Tuesday, August 25th, Tupelo will pop up nightly in the Riva restaurant space at the Fort LauderdaleMarriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa, 3030 Holiday Drive. Dinner will be served nightly beginning at 6PM. Reservations are suggested. Telephone: (954) 525-4000 ext. 3129; www.TupeloHarborBeach.com. Valet and self-parking available.
