The Cypress Room restaurant is one of those places that allow you to forget about Miami for sometime. Not that I do not like Miami, don’t get me wrong, but the Cypress Room has a very French identity. We went with Mirka for their $32 lunch on a week day. I don’t think they are open during the weekend at lunch. It is a short walk for me as I am in Midtown Miami. I absolutely love the decor of this restaurant. It is small and feels like you are in the countryside of France dining at a place where a grandma will be doing the cooking, but at the Cypress Room you have some dedicated people in the kitchen. Everything from the moment you walk in is perfect, the waiter came right away to say hello and gave us their menus. I know some call this restaurant a Modern American Bistro but for me this is more of “Adapted French.”

We both had a set of dishes, with the $32 menu you get to choose and appetizer, main course and dessert. It is a deal if you think that the quality of ingredients and the craftsmanship that goes into each dish is superb.  I ordered the pasta which was delicious and beautifully presented. I had their gnocchi as well.

But what I loved the most about my visit ti the Cypress Room was their barrel aged “bonnie and clyde” drink. WOW. This drink will absolutely transport you to France. It is made with hendrivks gin, solerno blood orange and cocchi americano. Just to sit at their bar and have this drink would make for a perfect afternoon or after work/relax after work. Of course this restaurant is from the set of Michael’s Genuine gang and it shows. If you want to escape from Miami for a few hours and feel like you are in Paris, stop at the Cypress Room to disconnect with amazing cuisine and expertly crafted drinks.
