Late last night together with my husband who by the way I guess it’s true what they say about that opposites attract because he doesn’t like to go out for dinner, for him is a chore and for me is what I live for. Still he makes the effort for me and I appreciate it. It is actually quite funny because while we are driving I can change my mind on where to go about 5 times within one block and that drives him crazy but he doesn’t act out. Don’t get me wrong, when I change my mind too many times he speaks out but yesterday his level of toleration was high so it was my lucky night.
We first went to Bulldog Burger but as we entered all the staff working looked very preoccupied and we were told to wait but I peak into the dining area and half the tables were empty. As I know my husband, I know he will hate to wait for the food more than the normal time which is already too long for him so I thought to change my mind and walk to Chéen Huaye. My husband agreed when i told him we would have to wait for a table here.
Tulum salad
Limed marinated chicken, fresh corn, black beans, cheese, tortilla strips, tomato and mixed greens tossed in home made cilantro lime peanut vinaigrette. This salad was great on the first few bites but we couldn;t get through it all the way down due to the sweetness of the peanut vinaigrette. Don’t get me wrong, it was fresh and plentiful to share between two people but I would have put the brakes on the vinaigrette if I would be the chef.
The entire experience at Chéen Huaye was very enjoyable I have to say. We also had tacos that I would rate a 7 but I must make a comment about the service; it was excellent.
