Refresh with Bubble Tea on Española Way

Whenever I move to a new city, I always seek out a spot for bubble tea nearby. Coming to South Florida, I was a bit disheartened when my options were slim to none. Fortunately, momoCHA Teahouse has set up shop on Española Way and now I can appease my bubble tea cravings any day of the week.

For those not familiar with bubble tea, it is a Taiwanese drink traditionally made with a blend of red tealeaves, milk, and fruit or fruit syrup. It can be customized to suit your tastes with a variety of tealeaves, fruits, and additions to choose from. One of the most popular bubble teas is “pearl milk tea,” which includes small chewy, candy-like balls made of tapioca starch. On our South Beach food tour, we serve a lychee tea with these treats.

Bubble tea gets its name from the little foamy bubbles that form at the top of a drink after being shaken with the special machinery.
