Situated in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District, Miami’s graffiti-lined, cultural core, R House, is a contemporary restaurant & bar heralded for its soulful, Latin-inspired menu and bustling weekend brunch. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, R House proprietors and husband-and-husband duo, executive chef Rocco Carulli, and director of operations, Owen Bale, revamped, refined, and relaunched a refreshed iteration of the restaurant’s evening programming. Now, as they approach their eight-year anniversary, the buzzy Wynwood eatery is known best for its stellar F&B offerings, over-the-top drag performances, and lively atmosphere, is officially announcing its latest programming addition, YAS QUEEN! – a Friday night Ru Paul’s Drag Race viewing party and drag show inspired by the vibrant flavors and scintillant sounds of Miami.
“We’ve implemented major changes to our programming to ensure a safe, fun environment for our guests all while embracing our identity as a drag destination”, says Chef Rocco. “We wanted YAS QUEEN to redefine dinner-and-a-show into something more than a humdrum prix-fixe. This is Miami after all and the only thing fiercer than the competition are our queens” says Owen, the logistics guru behind R House's expanded entertainment. “We’re ecstatic to be seating customers during this new chapter, and grateful for this chance to elevate all aspects of R House. We’ve refreshed our brand identity entirely starting with our cheeky new logo, website and overall messaging to reflect this playful shift.”
Kicking off on Friday, January 28, guests can shimmy on over to the Wynwood hotspot for dinner, drinks, and fierce drag queens serving up not-to-be missed performances. Produced by Miami drag goddess, Athena Dion who can always ensure a full-fledged party, guests can enjoy top-notch drag performances by beloved, Miami queens: Juicy Love, Morphine Love and Tayanna Love, Angie McNasty and Kat Wilderness. Also serving the Friday flavor, R House’s guest performers taking the stage include: London Adour, Malaysia Babydoll Foxx, Tiffany Fantasia, Fantasia Royale Gaga and Jellika Boom.
R House will also launch a bevy of new adult beverages ahead of the YAS QUEEN launch. Much like the fare, the cocktail program at R House highlights the bounty of Latin America’s indigenous ingredients as well as pay homage to Miami’s rich cocktail heritage.
