Wynwood Kitchen And Bar

I am not very familiar with the Wynwood area but slowly I am taking the time to explore the neighborhood. Mirka mentioned that Wynwood Kitchen and Bar was well worth the visit as the art throughout the restaurant is quite unique, vibrant and inspiring so we decided to head down there on an exploration of things culinary. Me and Mirka work together at Miami Culinary Tours and because Miami is always evolving in terms of cuisine, when we have some spare time we get into the car to see and taste what's new in the city.

Wynwood Kitchen and Bar art

The artwork is outstanding at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar, I think there is not another restaurant in Miami like this one. The garden is huge and can probably host a party of 1000 people. I specially loved this man standing on the window, I am sure is a type of sculture but I don't know anything about who is who in the art world here in Miami. But this statue or sculture was so mysterious and standing in the window I thought it was a brilliant idea.

Wedge salad

The food... well, we stopped at Wynwood Kitchen and Bar and I first started with chef Miguel Aguilar's wedge salad. This salad was by far one of the best wedge salads I ever had (and I am quite critical when it comes to wedge salads). The lettuce was fresh and crunchy, the bacon bites perfectly cooked and there was the right amount of onions which is crucial because this can throw the entire dish off track. The vinaigrette was light but noticeable.

Clams and mussels with chorizo

Brilliant combination crafted by the chef to add chorizo which is a Spanish sausage to a dish with clams and mussels. Chorizo has a mild spicy flavor and you can tell it is a good quality one because it released the perfect amount of fat into the broth. Cooking mussels is an art as you have to know when to turn off the heat for them to become tender and keep its flavor. The clams matched the chef cooking craft.
