Hitting newsstands this week, Wine Spectator’s annual “The List” gives nods to 3,795 of the world’s best restaurant wine lists. Among South Florida’s most distinguished venues for oenophilic excellence: Meat Market, Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, Casa D’Angelo and Rusty Pelican.
Joining repeat winners in Miami, Meat Market and Quattro Gastronomia Italiana, is Rusty Pelican, Key Biscayne’s landmark dining destination which received the Award of Excellence for the first time after reopening in December 2011 after a $9 million upgrade.
Further north, Fort Lauderdale’s flagship Casa D’Angelo, earns its 12th consecutive Best of Award of Excellence which gives special recognition to restaurants that clearly exceed the requirements of the Award of Excellence. According to owner Angelo Elia, “We are honored that we are again being recognized for our wine selection and thank Wine Spectator for this coveted award.” The Fort Lauderdale restaurant boasts an impressive collection of over 20,000 bottles of wine. Casa D’Angelo’s sister restaurant in Boca Raton, receives the Award of Excellence.
