Although originally from Indian, the roti is unleavened bread that is the perfect carrying vessel for the viscous and flavorful curried meats. Trinidadian food is influenced by many different styles, such as East Indian, Spanish, African, Chinese and more. Because of this, items like the roti wrap, a crepe-like bread filled with curried meat, is popular on the island. Our personal favorite is the curried goat, which provides a nice element of heat that is strangely addicting. The use of curry , peppers, and various spices makes for a complex dish that is rich in flavor and warms the belly.
