CityPlace Doral’s First Hispanic Heritage Event/Celebration

Since its 2017 Opening to Feature Music, Performances and More

 What/Who:

For the first time since it opened in 2017, CityPlace Doral is hosting a fun-filled Hispanic Heritage event in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month! Guests will enjoy an exhilarating evening of music and performances and the 2021 International Music and Dance Festival on Oct. 9, 4-8 p.m.

The 2021 International Music and Dance Festival will feature performances showcasing the culture of Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, and Venezuela from 4-6 p.m. Then, Barranquillero Musico, Singer, and Producer/Composer Felipe Molinares will dazzle with an exciting musical performance at 7 p.m.

Guests can sip beer samples and enter to win a prize package from VezaSur Brewing, a Miami-born brewery with Latin and American roots, or indulge in an array of exquisite, hand-rolled premium cigars from 4-8 p.m.

Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 – Oct. 15 by celebrating the histories, cultures and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.

Also throughout the month, Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM) will feature Pop-Up Exhibitions at CityPlace Doral from Latin Artists in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month. During the festivities on October 9, guests can also experience the following exhibits:

• Space #123: Collodion Wet Plate Process: Photography Exhibition (Wednesday, September 15 - Friday, Oct. 24) — Miquel Salom: The Tintype in the Twenty-First Century.
• Space #109: Children of the Diaspora. A Multimedia Exhibition (Saturday, Sept. 25 – Sunday, October 31) — “Children of the Diaspora: a Multimedia Exhibition” presents audiovisual material produced by youth Miamian children of Cuban exiles and how they combine both cultures: that which they inherited from their parents and their new identity in the U.S.
• Space #115: Love Pop Next Level (June 4, 2021 – October 31, 2021) — Venezuelan artist Eduardo Sanabria, best known as EDO, will extend his stay at CityPlace Doral for Hispanic Heritage Month with a large selection of his works in 2D and 3D in an exciting exhibition.
• New Mural Across Novecento (Now on display) — Marcus Borges, also known as Grabster, is a Brazilian graffiti artist, muralist and abstract artist with a bold take on color and movement. His latest work includes a mural for Jackson West to commemorate its new opening in August 2021.

CityPlace Doral has implemented several important policies and procedures to safeguard the health and well-being of its valued guests and employees. The open-air entertainment destination has considered the best practices recommended by national experts like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as state and local health care officials, to determine the appropriate steps to make CityPlace Doral a place where guests feel comfortable venturing back into public and reconnecting with friends and family.
