THE FEDERAL HOSTS HAVEN GASTRO LOUNGE IN A TEXAS STYLE SHOW DOWN
IT’S THE BIG-D vs. H-TOWN
It’s a Dallas vs. Houston battle of the knives - a Texas style showdown at the Federal!
Chef Todd Erickson, from HaVen Gastro Lounge, and our very own Chef Cesar Zapata are set to duke it out kitchen style at the Federal on Tuesday, October 30th. The chefs will be cooking up a five course menu accentuating tried and true Texan mantra. Comprised of 5 typical Texan themes, the menu will be divvied up between the two chefs – Deep Fried, Tex Mex, Game, BBQ & Sweets – and in the spirit of Big Tex, the chefs will doubtlessly be going big or going home.
Additionally, the meal will be paired up with Spoetzl Brewery beers out of Austin, Texas - most recognized for their Shiner Bock beer.
Why Texas? Chef Todd Erickson comes to Miami via Dallas while Chef Cesar Zapata graduated from the Art Institute Houston and spent his formative years under the tutelage of James Beard Nominated Chef Timothy Keating in Houston.
Diners at the end of the meal will be handed a score card in order to rate the chefs a la Iron Chef based on Taste, Plating and Originality. Their score cards will also be entered into a raffle. The winning chef will pick a winning ballot and award them a dinner for 2 at their restaurant of choice.
The menu will be served family style and will cost $75 per person, not including tax and gratuity.
Tickets can be pre-purchased on the Federal’s website www.thefederamiami.com.
