Fresco Trattoria is an authentic Italian eatery at 1410 Ocean Drive in South Beach. The 269-seat indoor/outdoor restaurant is the first US outpost for owner Sergio Massaglia, who owns and operates two Fresco locations in Milan and Naples, Italy. The kitchen is helmed by two Italian-born chefs – one of which was trained by “Pizza King” himself Alfredo Forgione – that boast over 15-years of experience in traditional “trattorie” and whose menu includes a variety of antipasti, hand-tossed pizzas, pastas and more: www.frescomiami.com
Keeping in the spirit of these old trattorie, Fresco uses traditional utensils, coffee in a glass, and the classic "zeppolelle."
Fresco’s main dining room is modeled after its sister properties overseas and includes a long, white communal, black tables contrasted by lime green place settings, black and white two-tone regency-style chairs, antique-looking black couches, and a full-liquor bar equipped with flat screen televisions for viewing international sporting events and stocked with hand-selected Italian wine list. Additional touches include photographs of Italian countryside mixed with abstract art. Fresco Trattoria is open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to midnight. $15 valet is available.
