It’s easy to get blinded by the bright sun and distracted by the beach ready bodies you find in Miami but don’t let food slip your mind! With over 12,000 restaurants this melting pot city has some of the best food the U.S has to offer! Here are my top 10 favorite eats in Miami.

10. Pulled Pork @ Bulldog BBQ

Casual atmosphere and no gimmicks just great barbeque! The pulled pork is delicately shredded, moist and doused in a tangy sweet barbeque sauce! Comes with delicious warm cornbread, slaw and a side of your choosing.

9. Huevos “Bulla” @ Bulla

Coral Gables gets a taste of Spain with this tapas restaurant that has an elegant interior and an expansive wine list. The Huevos “Bulla” are made with organic eggs that are placed over a bed of thin crispy potato chips, mixed with serrano ham, potato foam and then drizzled with truffle oil. Mix it all together for a bit that’s crunchy, savory and delectable.

8. Llewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken @ Yardbird Southern Table and Bar

Rustic, charming and tasteful Yardbird is the Southern Belle of Miami restaurants. The fried chicken is never dry and made with a breading that will leave you craving this comfort food daily. Their “27 hour recipe” is paired with a cheddar waffle and a honey tabasco sauce that will make your mouth water.

7. Patacones De Carne @ Bolivar

This bold and neon bright restaurant in South Beach offers a variety of South American dishes, but the best? Patacones De Carne: A large fried green plantain serves as a crunchy platform for succulent and spicy shredded beef to sit on. Bite into it for a true Colombian experience and your taste buds will be happy all day.

6. Goat Cheese Croquettes @ Sugarcane Raw Bar

Midtown’s hotspot offering an elevated take on the most common of meals. Sugarcane makes their own croquette with smooth and flavorful goat cheese. Covering the cheese in breadcrumbs and frying it for a gooey appetizer that screams refinement. Paired with a membrillo marmalade for a fruity sweet offset to the salty cheese.

5. Ropa Vieja Empanadas @ Wynwood Kitchen and Bar

The artsy and hipster Wynwood could only be host to the most creative chefs. Shredded chicken brewed with olives, tomato paste and other ingredients for a tangy sauce resulting in tender scrumptious meat. Wrapped in a flaky and light dough and served with a bright green cilantro lime creme this will be one of the most exquisite empanadas you will find in our hispanic influenced city.

4. Duck Arepa @ Bloom Wynwood

A bright springtime feel is what you will find in this new restaurant to hit Wynwood. A take on asian and hispanic street food, Bloom is cutting edge when it comes to mixing and matching ingredients. Juicy shredded duck that is far from gamey has a pungent flavor with aromas of cinnamon and other wholesome nutty spices. The fine slices of duck are mixed in with fresh cilantro and pressed between two homemade corn arepas and paired with fingerling potato chips with smoky coban pepper seasoning, chives and cotija cheese.

3. Sauteed Local Black Sea Bass @ The Rusty Pelican

The recently remodeled Rusty Pelican overlooks Biscayne Bay, making you feel like the owner of a megayacht who just happens to dine only at seaside restaurants. As any good boater knows the best seafood comes from restaurants with marinas, much like the Rusty Pelican. Light and flaky black sea bass is sauteed with a light cinnamon broth for a mixture of bold spices and a creamy butter flavor. Paired with white and green asparagus atop a bed of basmati rice for an entree that will make you forget that you don’t have that megayacht.

2. Linguine Nere Al Granchio @ Sylvano’s

The Italian trattoria is a favorite amongst local Italians for it’s authentic plates. As a peninsula Italian cuisine uses the mediterranean as an inspiration for many of it’s dishes. Black linguine is made from squid ink giving the pasta a briny flavor that pairs well with seafood. Sylvano enhances the pasta with large lumps of crabmeat and a spicy tomato sauce for a gastronomical experience that you won’t find anywhere else in Miami.

1. Scallop Tiradito @ 660 The Angler’s

This mediterranean style patio is where you will want to be seated when you come to the Angler’s. Sit under flickering lamps as you escape the neon lights of South Beach into a quaint and classic restaurant. Bite into their thinly sliced scallop tiradito for a citrus explosion with fresh cilantro to leave your tongue feeling refreshed and bright. So delicious you will want to order two of them you cannot leave Miami without trying this creation.
