Whiskey Joe’s, a rollicking, casual bar & grill brings all of the fun of a nonstop beach bash to South Florida with a great bar, delicious food, lively music and a casual and colorful atmosphere that evokes the Florida Keys. Currently in the final phases of renovating the space that was formerly the Rickenbacker Fish Company at 3301 Rickenbacker Causeway on Key Biscayne, Whiskey Joe’s décor includes brightly colored tabletops and columns, trophy kills, and a funky outdoor bar and a stage for live music. Whiskey Joe’s is on track to be completely up and running with its full menu available to eager patrons by Monday, July 16, 2012 The restaurant quietly opened last week serving a limited menu while putting the final touches on its transformation into South Florida’s new waterside hot spot.

With a mandate to bring the party to Key Biscayne, Whiskey Joe’s is accessible by land or sea –with dock space available for boaters interested in checking out the action. Most of the fun takes place outside, with the bulk of Whiskey Joe’s 300 plus seats on the waterfront patio, under a giant tiki hut, festively decked out with neon signage, twinkle lights and a colorful palette of reds, blues, greens, and yellows.

Adhering to an anything goes dress code perfect for sultry South Florida, Whiskey Joe’s offers a wallet-friendly, all day menu ($2.00 - $21.00). Appetizers and Snacks ($8.99 - $12.99) include traditional favorites like nachos, wings – which can be ordered grilled or breaded – spinach crab and artichoke dip as well as sweet & spicy coconut shrimp, tequila & garlic dippin’ shrimp and sautéed mussels, among other selections. Salads ($8.99 –$ 11.99) – chopped, Caesar or mango (mixed baby greens, with mango, peppers, toasted almonds and banana croutons) – can all be supplemented with free range chicken, fresh fish of the day, grilled or coconut shrimp or churrasco steak. Seafood entrees ($14.99 -$21.00) include the sustainable catch of the day, fried shrimp, beer battered fish & shrimp, grilled grouper and crab cakes. And, Whiskey Joe’s amiable chefs will gladly cook your catch, or prepare anything on the menu to go.

Regularly priced well drinks are a bargain to begin with at $5, but are only $2.50 during Happy Hour. Specialty drinks like the acai margarita, Jack Daniel’s lemonade, rock coconut mojito and other delicious concoctions go for $9 each, or $27 per carafe during regular hours, and are $3 off each cocktail during Happy Hour.
