Dōma, Wynwood’s new dining destination will be serving up authentic Italian cuisine for locals and visitors to indulge in. Dōma, which means home in Latin, is opening on Friday, October 12 and will offer fresh, handmade Southern Italian fare as well as an impressive cocktail program and extensive wine list.
“We are excited to be opening our first restaurant in Wynwood where Chef Vincenzo Salvatore and I will bring our culinary experiences from around the world to the neighborhood for locals and tourists to enjoy,” says Luca Lomonaco, co-owner of dōma. Lomonaco, who also serves as the Master Sommelier at dōma, has experience working in many notable restaurants including Michelin 3-star restaurant Quince, and as sommelier at Le Petite Maison.
“There is great energy in the area and we are excited to invite the community in to our restaurant to see the love we put into every dish. We want people to walk in and feel like they are family,” says Lomonaco.
With an emphasis on seafood, dōma sources local and seasonal ingredients from Florida and neighboring states. The restaurant boasts simply prepared dining that is fresh, using the highest quality ingredients in their dishes – there are no secret ingredients. Guests will be able to savor every ingredient and enjoy dishes made from scratch including freshly baked bread and pasta made in house. The menu features small bites, starters (which guests are encouraged to order for the table and share), pastas and mains, a selection of sides and home-made desserts.
Outfitted in cream colored walls, polished cement floors, wooden panels and accents of gold, dōma exudes class and sophistication in a neighborhood that is known for its graffiti muraled walls and art galleries. A standout feature is dōma’s built-in wine cellar which can showcase up to 800 bottles of wine all carefully curated by Master Sommelier/Co-owner Lomonaco. Dōma offers a variety of seating, including their 2,400 square-foot indoor dining room which seats 35, a private dining room separated by glass panels that seats 12 and the bar area that seats 12. Guests also have the option to dine al fresco in the lush garden-like patio area that comfortably seats 25.
“At dōma, we pride ourselves on creating dishes that reflect our culture and flavor with an emphasis on taste and quality,” says Executive Chef Salvatore who has worked in the kitchen of several Michelin two-star restaurants around the world including Torre Del Saracino on the Amalfi Coast and Capri Palace in Naples. “We hope guests will see dōma as a culinary destination in Wynwood and that we can create a memorable dining experience for them.”
